SNOW - Ski/Split Network for Outstanding Winters

This event is an info night for a new program potentially launching this winter season - SNOW (boosted from the Calgary section - thanks for the inspo!)!

The idea is to have a group of people who head out together (preferably) monthly over a whole season of skiing/splitboarding in the Rockies (and maybe further west). This will allow the group to learn from each other, track the progression of conditions over a full season and form connections that hopefully boost their network in the fantastic group of ski/splitboard partners that make up the ACC.

A few quick points:

·       -  SNOW is not an intro / beginner to backcountry program – if you or someone you know is looking for this fit, please check out the WIM program!

·         - The current vision is that the SNOW program will (hopefully) be a good way to connect tourers up to help each other progress in experience and skills. There will be a questionnaire posted to fill out and submit to help match suitable groups together for a similar idea of what kind of days you are hoping to enjoy in the backcountry (ski skill level, risk tolerance, fitness, terrain choice)

·      -   If you have a small group of friends to tour with and are happy to include a few new connections, there will be the option to indicate group preferences in the comments section on the questionnaire

·         - A separate calendar post will arrive shortly for actual sign-ups

·        -  AST 1 is a minimum requirement for the program

·         If you’re unsure about the fit, but are curious, please come out and ask the questions and share your thoughts!!

As a fresh addition to the calendar, we expect this first year to be a work in progress, but if you’re looking for a way to have more time out this coming season, we want to see you there!

If the timing of this evening doesn’t work for you, but you are still interested in finding out more, please get in touch with one of the organizers.
