Note that the March 12 departure to Shadow Lake Lodge is a daytime departure that will require taking a day off from work or school. For the Canmore Clubhouse on Feb 12, arrival in Canmore can be anytime Friday whether early or late since the WIM outings will take place Saturday and Sunday daytimes.

Notes:
Winter in the Mountains (WIM) 2027 provides an introduction to traveling in the mountains on touring skis or splitboard. Its intended audience is wanna-bes or newbies to backcountry touring. It is presented by volunteers from ACC Edmonton. WIM 2027 aims to cover topics including introductory avalanche awareness, touring clothing and equipment, and cold weather risk mitigation. WIM 2027 is not a replacement for Avalanche Skills Training 1 (AST1). AST1 is not required to attend WIM, but it is highly recommended that participants consider AST1 training either prior to or following the course.

Cost & Fees
The cost for the course is $375 per participant.
This fee includes:
• Clubhouse and lodge accommodations.
• Classroom space rental.
• Classroom refreshments and group meals for field trip weekends.
The fee does not include:
• Required equipment and clothing.
• Rentals.
• Personal food and drinks or transportation.

Waiver and Membership Requirement
Participation in this activity is subject to you having a current membership and a current signed
ACC Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks Agreement (the “Waiver”), which is signed in conjunction with purchasing/renewing your membership.
A separate Waiver is not required. Your membership Waiver in place at the time of the activity will apply to your participation in this activity. You can review your completed waiver by logging onto your profile at alpineclubofcanada.ca. If your
membership renews prior to the activity taking place, you will be required to agree to a new Waiver upon renewal, this new Waiver will apply to your participation in this activity. By proceeding with the booking, you agree to the foregoing waiver terms. Bookings
without a current Waiver at the time of the activity will be cancelled.
