Itinerary:

One more weekend on real rock before the season wraps up. This course is aimed at people who've climbed outside before and want a low pressure weekend to get comfortable again with anchors, crag belays, and general rope management. Beginners are welcome too. If you've done some gym routes and want to try the real thing, this is a good place to start.

Saturday, September 26
Introduction & Orientation: Welcome, safety briefing, gear check, and an overview of the plan.
Climb: We'll head out to a local crag and spend the day on easier lines to warm up and get comfortable with the surroundings.

Sunday, September 27
Climb: Depending on the group's fitness and energy, we'll head to a different crag to explore new terrain with slightly more involved routes.

Note: Exact details will be sent out a few days prior to the event. Late September in Jasper means short days and cold mornings, so bring layers.

Required Items to Bring:
  • Harness
  • Climbing shoes
  • Belay device + locking carabiner
  • Chalk bag and chalk
  • Appropriate approach/hiking shoes
  • Backpack
  • Warm layers, toque, and gloves (belay jacket recommended)

Recommended Items to Bring:
  • PAS
  • Anchor set (ie: carabiner x2, locking carabiner x2, 120cm sling)
  • Prusik
  • Rope
  • Quickdraws
  • Helmet

Waiver Requirement
Participation in this activity is subject to the participant having signed the ACC Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks Agreement (the “Waiver”).
