Itinerary:
This is a beginner oriented trip for alpine ski touring and/or split boarding based out of Mosquito Creek Wilderness Hostel.  We plan to carpool where possible, travelling on Friday evening.


We will be on snow Saturday and Sunday. Areas considered - Hector South Ridge, Pulpit (1-6), Bow Summit, Puzzle (OXO) Peak, etc. AST1 is a minimum recommended pre-requisite, but no backcountry experience is required to attend.  

This trip will accommodate up to 6 participants in shared sleeping, cooking, and lounging areas. 
The Hostel is outdoor (pit) toilet, and 'wilderness' living.

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required for all participants.  
Participants will be selected at the discretion of the trip leader.
Hut fees are $100 per person at maximum occupancy (6 participants).

  • Bedding IS provided. Bring your own if you wish.
  • Ski/Splitboard
  • Skins
  • Ski Poles
  • Beacon/Shovel/Probe
  • Ski Clothes, Hut Comfy stuff.

Recommended Items to Bring:
  • FRS/GRMS Radio
  • Towel & Sauna stuff

  • Member $100.00 CAD

No accommodation refunds will be given unless coordinator finds a suitable replacement.


*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Edmonton Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
