Itinerary:

This is an advanced skills oriented trip for ski/splitboard mountaineering based out of Lake Louise.  Objectives will be highly dependent on conditions at time of trip as well as group consensus but ideally targeting summits (e.g. Hector, Cathedral) or couloirs (e.g. gutentight, phantom).  Participants should be comfortable with 1600m+ days as well as boot packs and glacier travel.  Participation in group decision making and objective selection is mandatory.

Participants will be selected at the discretion of the trip leader. 

Required Items to Bring:

AST1 required (AST2 preferred). 

Crevasse rescue required.

Boot & ski crampons required.

Glacier gear incl. ice axe required.

Backpack with ski/board carry (and familiarity with use) required.

We plan to carpool where possible, travelling there Friday evening and staying two nights with return to Edmonton Sunday evening.  This trip will accommodate 4-6 participants (hut fees 100-150$) in shared accommodation; details at https://hihostels.ca/en/destinations/hi-lake-louise

Waiver and Membership Requirement
Participation in this activity is subject to you having a current membership and a current signed ACC Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks Agreement (the “Waiver”), which is signed in conjunction with purchasing/renewing your membership.

A separate Waiver is not required. Your membership Waiver in place at the time of the activity will apply to your participation in this activity. You can review your completed waiver by logging onto your profile at alpineclubofcanada.ca. If your membership renews prior to the activity taking place, you will be required to agree to a new Waiver upon renewal, this new Waiver will apply to your participation in this activity. By proceeding with the booking, you agree to the foregoing waiver terms. Bookings without a current Waiver at the time of the activity will be cancelled.
