Required Items to Bring:

All participants must agree to the Queer Climbing Collective Community Guidelines:

Anti Oppressive Space

By joining this group you agree to not intentionally spread racism, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, or any other action that could be used to cause harm or exclusion towards other members. We are a space where you agree to challenge yourself to learn more about any topics that you may not have much knowledge about, without relying on the labour of others to teach you, unless it is freely offered. Please try your best to use the person's pronouns and name, if you mess up, apologize and move on!

Own Your Intentions and your Impacts

Respect each other’s experiences and feelings by taking responsibility for the effects of your words. On the other side, if you have a strong reaction to something, let the group know. Be open to dialogue.

Welcome Multiple Viewpoints and Identities

Speak from your own experience by using “I statements.” Ask questions to understand the sources of disagreements. If someone has an identity or sexuality that you do not understand, respect them and their experience and do not ask overly personal or intimate questions (unless they have first opened up).

Notice and Name Group Dynamics

We are all responsible for this space. Be aware of how others are responding or not responding. Ask for a “time out” or dialogue if needed. If someone is uncomfortable or not wanting to engage, allow them space.

Work to Recognize your Privileges

Use this space to recognize and investigate your privileges (for example: race, class, gender, sexual orientation, ability). Honor the different experiences we all bring to this space.

Confidentiality

Share the message, not the messenger. We recognize that at times we may be in public spaces, and it will be difficult to respect confidentiality in these spaces. Please keep what you hear and see, as well as who is in the group, to yourself.

Recommended Items to Bring:

All participants are responsible for their own climbing gear. If cost is a barrier to join us, please email ied@accedmonton.ca

Notes:

After registration, a member of the ACC Edmonton Section's Inclusion, Equity and Diversity committee will reach out to you to confirm acknowledgment of the community guidelines. The safety and well-being of the queer community is of utmost importance.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Edmonton Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you!
Click here to be directed to our "Contact Us" page and contact the appropriate Chair person or the Section Chair. This is also a simple way to make your section executive aware of any praises, suggestions or problems you may have with any area of the Edmonton Section of the ACC.
Thank you for your response.
