Itinerary:

This is a "families-with-kids" trip to the coveted Elizabeth Parker Hut near the shores of Lake O'hara in Yoho National Park. All members are welcome to apply, but waitlist preference will be given to those joining with kids under 18. Kids should be old enough to sleep in busy, shared accommodation with some evening noise.


This location features an extensive trail network for day hikes to destinations like the Opabin Plateau or Lake McArthur, with options for more challenging hikes and scrambles. Participants should be self-sufficient (pre-trip accommodations, food, gear, and activities at the hut). Expect opportunities to partner up with other members for hikes, scrambles, and other activities. 

Access to the hut is via the Parks Canada shuttle bus ($25/person), or participants may choose to hike (~12km of relatively flat road). Aug 13th Bus Schedule is as follows:

  • 10:30 am (4 guests or more as needed)
  • 3:30 pm (10 guests max)
  • 5:30 pm (10 guests max)
Required Items to Bring:

Sleeping bag, personal food, personal safety and medical, activity-specific gear (hiking, scrambling, etc). A gear list can be provided upon request.

Waiver Requirement
Participation in this activity is subject to the participant having signed the ACC Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks Agreement (the “Waiver”). The Waiver is a legal document in which you waive or give up the right to sue or claim compensation following an accident. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY!

Members participating in this activity do not require a separate Waiver. Your membership Waiver in place at the time of the activity will apply to your participation in this activity. If your membership renews prior to the activity taking place, you will be required to agree to a new Waiver upon renewal, this new Waiver will apply to your participation in this activity. By proceeding with the booking, you agree with the forgoing waiver terms. You can review your completed waiver by logging onto your profile at alpineclubofcanada.ca.
