Itinerary:

Thursday, March 19
Begin trip at Bow Lake.  Ski to Bow Hut.  Stay overnight.

Friday, March 20 
Travel to Guy Hut over Wapta Icefield, via the standard Route.  Stay overnight at Guy Hut.

Saturday, March 21 
Ski on Yoho Peak or other objectives in the vicinity of Guy Hut.  Stay overnight at Guy Hut.

Sunday, March 22 
Travel from Guy Hut to Stanley Mitchell Hut, either via Isolated Col or via the Whaleback depending on weather and avalanche forecast.  Stay overnight in the Stanley Mitchell Hut.

Monday, March 23 
Ski out to TransCanada Highway via Yoho Valley Road.  End of trip.  Return home or stay in region over night.

Required Items to Bring:

Normal touring gear plus ski crampons.  Climbing harness, prusik cords and hardware for roped up travel over glaciated terrain and to perform crevasse rescue.  I have a Petzl RAD line which requires compatible hardware and prusik cords.  Specific choices will be determined when roster is finalized.


Notes:

Participants should have AST-1 and a glacier travel/crevasse rescue course.

Hut fees are $200 per person.

Participants will schedule a crevasse rescue practice in Edmonton prior to the trip.

Waiver Requirement
Participation in this activity is subject to the participant having signed the ACC Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks Agreement (the “Waiver”). Members participating in this activity do not require a separate Waiver. Your membership Waiver in place at the time of the activity will apply to your participation in this activity. If your membership renews prior to the activity taking place, you will be required to agree to a new Waiver upon renewal, this new Waiver will apply to your participation in this activity.
