Likely to split into 3 groups of 6 based on skill and risk tolerance.
This is a beginner area, commonly used for avalanche training. The terrain isn't huge but you can get some very good turns and the ski out is quite easy to navigate (splitboard friendly). Bald hills is a summer hiking area on the west side of Maligne Lake. This is a great opportunity for people newer to backcountry touring.
Lodging is booked by each participant. Jasper downtown hostel will be the most affordable accommodations and likely to be the hotspot for participants.
On the morning of January 31st, the group will meet up prior to heading out to the Maligne Lake Parking area (8am). Meeting place to be determined.
If people wish to ski a second day, that is up to the participants to arrange.

Avalanche Rescue Equipment, Outdoor outerwear, touring equipment, headlamp, food and related items, Avalanche probe/beacon/shovel, Backpack (touring pack), cloths, first aid kit, water bottle, personal medical items.
