Itinerary: |
Organizer: John Killan and Cory Roffey Difficulty Rating: Intermediate. Due to the intermediate rating the trip size will be kept to 6 (2 leaders and 4 participants) and all registrants will be waitlisted and then approved for the trip by the trip coordinators. Itinerary: We are heading up Peskett Canyon to climb on “End of the Line” (WI4) and “Lovely Parting Gifts” (WI3+). This is an intermediate trip as the approach up the canyon requires some more advanced travel skills over some short ice steps and through some brief avalanche paths. The approach can take 1-2 hrs depending on conditions. Sat, March 15th: 7:30 am - Meeting at the parking for Peskett Canyon (Little Russia/Solar Panel) …we do not want to get scooped Make our way up the canyon (1-2 hrs.) Climb! Head back out to the cars Discuss a potential objective for the next day
Sun, March 16th: Prerequisites / Courses Required: Must be able to safely TR belay Have access to ice climbing gear Be comfortable with a long approach
Note: Accommodations will be left up to individual trip participants, but the trip leaders will be staying at the Shunda Creek Hostel on Friday and Saturday night and participants are welcome to book their own accommodations there if they like.
