Itinerary:

We will meet at the trailhead for Darkside Crag at 10am and approach as a group. We will climb for the day, and then the group will head back to the trailhead together around 4pm. All abilities are welcome: we will be setting up a toprope for those just starting out, as well as have opportunities to lead grades from 5.7-5.11 (one 5.12b).

Helmet (no bike, ski, or other non-climbing helmets)

Chalk bag

Belay device

Personal tether

Quickdraws (if possible, not required)

Personal first aid kit

Personal medications


Recommended Items to Bring:

Approach Shoes

Light t-shirt (to climb in)

Light pants/shorts (to climb in)

Fleece layer

Waterproof shell

Warm outer jacket (weather dependent)

Daypack

Water bottle

Extra snacks

Camera

Sunscreen and lip protection

Sunglasses

Toilet paper


How to Get There:
Event Directions:  

When driving west down Highway 11, turn right onto a forest road about 5km after passing Nordegg. Follow this road until you see a grassy pull-out on the right-hand side.

 




*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Edmonton Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
