Itinerary:

Arrive at Marmot Meadows Friday evening or before 9:30 AM on Saturday morning. Trail maintenance begins at 10AM and continues till 2PM. Other activities including self-directed and trip-leader led on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Please note we are looking for trip leaders to organize Sunday activities! Camping is free, and participants can earn their level 1 sightline clearing certificate allowing them to maintain trails throughout Jasper National Park.

Required Items to Bring:

Trail work items include hiking boots, work gloves, sun/wind/rain/bug protection and eye protection (sunglasses). Equipment for camping in the meadow such as tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, stove and cooking equipment. Please bring food, water bottles, and a bagged lunch for the trail day. Bear spray.


Recommended Items to Bring:

Other items pertaining to the other activities that you plan to lead or attend. Camp comfort items such as camp chairs, tarp, fire making supplies, etc. There are washrooms (with showers) and potable water at the campground. Town isn't far away if you need supplies or want to order a pizza.

Marmot Meadows is a open field area to the south of the perimeter loop at Whistler's campground (67 19, Jasper, AB T0E 1E0). The site is sign-posted. Camping is free!

 

Notes:

We are looking for trip leaders to post complimentary trips for Sunday the 16th. Hiking, introductory rock-climbing are particularly desirable.



Cancellation up to June 14th. Partial attendance for only the trial work portion of the event itself is acceptable.


*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Edmonton Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
