Itinerary:

Come on out to Jasper to enjoy the best new crag in town. Lead or toprope, as you prefer. This trip is an ideal follow-on to build skills you learned the Rock Progression Program, or a way to learn to lead outdoors if you missed RPP. If you aren't up for leading but want to climb outdoors, we'll be set up for toproping as well. We will climb at the wonderful new Cinquefoil crag (location info and route beta in Directions below), with a relatively easy approach and routes from 5.6 to 5.10 (mostly 7 to 9), and a couple of nice bolted 5.7 multipitch routes too, so you'll find something in your comfort zone. Or outside it, as you prefer. It's a pleasant spot and very good rock, with enough routes to keep you busy for a week.

We'll have an intro session Friday evening at Michele and Lee's campsite (Whistlers, 26C), going over what hardware you'll encounter on the crag and practicing anchor setting on a board, if you crave some learning. Or just show up and go up!

Required Items to Bring:

Sunscreen

Insect repellent

Lunch

Water – we recommend bringing a full liter, as it gets pretty dry up there.

Chapstick

Rain jacket

Climbing shoes, chalk bag, harness, belay device

Helmet (there are still enough loose bits on this new crag to make for the occasional call of "rock!")

Recommended Items to Bring:

Stick clip if you have one

First aid kit

Sunglasses

Quickdraws and anchor sets if you have them

We'll have some club ropes but feel free to bring yours if you prefer

Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons.
