The Hilda Creek area has plenty of backcountry skiing options, including roadside-accessible ones like Parker Ridge and Hilda Ridge. The HI Hilda Creek Wilderness hostel is often hard to book for this reason, but a sweet weekend spot opened up! Friday, February 2 – travel to hostel (most likely through Nordegg) Saturday, Feb. 3 – ski ski ski (or board)! We will select routes together that fit the snow conditions and group interests. Sunday, Feb 4 – ski/board and travel home. If there is sufficient interest, this trip can be extended to start on Thursday, Feb 1 – there is availability at the hostel still. --> UPDATE – avail is now for Sunday, Feb 4, so we'd return a day later.

| Required Items to Bring: |
- AST1
- Not being sick! Many airborne diseases are prevalent this winter, including COVID-19, RSV, and the flu. As the hut is small, we'll be sharing a lot of time together indoors.
- Backcountry ski gear (skis, skins) and avalanche safety gear (beacon, probe, shovel) – and the knowledge to use them! (We can do an in-city refresher before the trip).
