Itinerary:

The Edmonton section has exclusive booking of the hut.  We will travel in to the hut Friday morning with all gear and depart the hut on Sunday.  A trail network in the Lake O'Hara area immediately surrounding the hut has many options for hiking, find details on day hikes here https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/yoho/activ/randonnee-hike/jour-day


Some spots will be reserved for group leaders however participants should expect the possibility of self-led hikes and/or to self-select into hiking groups that match their personal ambition, fitness, interest, and capabilities.  



Required Items to Bring:

An attitude of respect that includes sportsmanship, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship. 


Typical hiking/trekking gear such as hiking boots, poles, and attire.  Sleeping bag and pillow.  Personal hygiene items, etc. Refer to https://www.alpineclubofcanada.ca/web/ACCMember/Huts/Elizabeth_Parker_Hut.aspx for a list of existing hut amenities.

Notes:

COVID-19 vaccination is required for all participants.  


Participants will be selected based on a combination of first come first served sign ups and trip leader discretion.  Note: some spots will be reserved for trip leaders and trip organizers. 


We will endeavour to organize meal sharing groups and car pools for those interested, details of which are to be determined.


Accommodation cost for each participant is 110$ total. 




*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Edmonton Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
