Itinerary: |
This is intermediate/ advanced guided days of skills progression. MUST have a general understanding and have ice climbed before. Unlock your potential for winter adventure. Sharpen into the specific skills required to lead climb while climbing a frozen waterfall.This adventure starts when you meet your guide and get your equipment. From there we will travel to our climbing site. Your guide will expand your ability to climb ice with very specific movement coaching and skill progressions. We will help you sharpen your skills while you learn the most efficient way to climb a frozen waterfall. Focusing on steep ice movements and what it takes in leading ice.

Required Items to Bring: |
Wear winter clothing and lots of layers (what you would wear to the ski hill) Please arrive with lunch, water, a full tank of gas, and be ready to adventure. Gear Rentals are available or bring your own: harness, belay device, mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes, helmet, etc

rentals can be purchased at acc ice wall Edmonton, or trailhead in reddeer. carpooling can be arranged with what's app chats by gmmc or acc members. Prerequisites/ experience: 5 days of ice climbing experience Recommended to have had steep ice coaching/ or understanding of it.

Up to the guiding outfit (girth hitch guiding). following there policy's on cancellation/partial attendance
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Edmonton Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
